Zagreb Stories Vol. 2 screened on 2nd EUNIC Film Festival in Namibia

From August 3rd to August 9th, the EUNIC Cluster Namibia presented the 2nd edition of the EUNIC Film Festival under the theme “From Europe with love”. The festival featured 13 films from 13 European countries on the wide ranging topic of love. On August 5th, the Croatian movie “Zagreb Stories Vol. 2“ was screened in Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre in Windhoek.

On 1 July 2013 Croatia has become the 28th Member State of the European Union

The international recognition of the Republic of Croatia on 15 January 1992 marked the beginning of the development of relations between Croatia and the European Union. The intensification of these relations led to the signing of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) on 29 October 2001, the first formal contractual step in institutionalising the relationship of Croatia with the EU. Following Croatia's application for membership in the European Union on 21 February 2003 in Athens, the European Council granted Croatia the status of candidate country for membership.

BASIS OF VALID SCHENGEN RESIDENCE PERMIT AND

Government of the Republic of Croatia, at its session on
7 December 2011,has adopted the decision to temporarily
facilitate the entry of foreigners on tourist visits to
the Republic of Croatia on the basis of valid Schengen
residence permits and visas.

ITF DAVIS CUP 2011 - from 16 to 18 September in Potchefstroom

Croatia has qualified to play in the Davis Cup World Group play-off tournament  against South Africa.

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) in London announced that the ITF Davis Cup event will be held from 16 to 18 September 2011 and hosted in Potchefstroom, a town about 120 kilometers from Johannesburg.  This is the first tour away from home for the Croatian team since it played against Great Britain in London in 2007.

South Africa and Croatia have not met in the Davis Cup previously and it will be their first head- to-head encounter.

the Museum Africa in Johannesburg, is organising a flagship
exhibition, Contemporary Croatian Drawing, to be held from
4 until 1 March  2009.

The exhibition, comprising 140 works of 70 contemporary
Croatian artists, represents the finest works of different
generations of artists, including young and up-and-coming
artists, and various trends in modern visual artworks of the
20th and 21st centuries – indeed a wide range and diversity
of artistic expressions.

The Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in South Africa, in association with the Cultural Centre Novi Zagreb will be hosting a concert to be presented by two eminent Croatian artists, soprano Mira Vlahović and organist Edmund Borić-Andler. The concert will be held on 22 February 2008 in Pretoria University’s Universiteitsoord Church, corner Duxbury and Herold Roads, Hatfield at 19h00.
The concert will be repeated in the Croatian Catholic Church in Johannesburg on 24 February 2008 after the 10h30 Mass.
